Affordable Fun in Green Valley Lake

Updated: Jun 3, 2019

Looking for a family vacation on a budget? Green Valley Lake has it all! From boat rentals, to community dances, and swimming, you are sure to find the perfect family (and budget) friendly activity!

Swimming

At Green Valley Lake, there is a full beach with a lifeguard on duty at almost all times, as well as two different swimming areas: shallows, and deep. Swim pass information is available at Green Valley Lake Recreation. Swimming is usually open Memorial Day to Labor Day between 9 AM and 7 PM, depending on weather.

Rent a Paddle Boat

Head down to the Boathouse to rent a paddle boat! If paddle boats aren’t your thing, don’t worry! You can also rent a canoe, a kayak for one or two, a paddle board, even a steel fishing boat if that’s your fancy. Each paddle boat can seat 4 people, but two adults or larger kids are needed at once to paddle.

Community Barn Dance

Once a month, there is a community barn dance hosted at the Green Valley Lake recreational center! Bring your favorite potluck dish and enjoy music, square dancing (with instructors), and a sense of home. A bulletin board is posted out front with the upcoming dance dates, but

I’ll give you a sneak peek: the next one is the second weekend of July!

There are plenty of other free attractions in Green Valley Lake, but these are some of the most raved about by locals, part-timers, and tourists alike. Book your next #GVLlikealocal vacation at gvleaglecabins.com!
